We are doing this series at church called, The Truth Project. It is so amazing! Today they showed a clip from Carl Sagans Cosmos video series that they show in the Public School systems. I actually remembered watching it when I was in school. He made the video back in 1981. He explains that we, and everything there ever was and ever will be in a cosmic box..and that we were created out of star-stuff!!! Of course when he died in 1996, that was the day he DID finally believe in God-too bad is was too late.

My 10 year old could not contain her laughter while watching the video this morning… she said, Is he serious mom….and kids actually believe this stuff? Amazing I told her..Yes, they do..and Yes, I DID!! How foolish it seems now…. Being a born again believers…The series also interviews folks from all sorts of different religions and cults, asking them questions about truth. One that really stuck out was what the Universalists believe. There was a lady speaking for this group saying that truth is everywhere and in all things and that the Universalists believe that we can take truth from ALL religions and use it for our good.. She said that some times she picks up the bible, while other times she picks up the Koran or material by Sahaj Marg..and just tajkes what she needs….How mixed up is that. How selfish is that too.

I can not imagine how my life would be if I were walking around..sampling a little of this religion or a little of that…

Number one..it is not even about Religion! I think that is why so many folks are messed up and confused. It must be horrid to not know 100% what you believe in and why. I think alot of people go through their whole life serching for truth and when they finally can not look anymore and are completly drained emotionally….they just choose to believe whatever “feels right” and then search for “that religion” that fits the bill…Sad, truly sad.

It makes you wonder how a person’s brain can not believe in creation and/or God, but watch a video in school and be taught for many years in school that we are made from star-stuff and shake their heads in amazement with belief. *fainting*

Another thing to think about is the Christian parents that send their children to Public schools and teach them about creation at church and at home, and teach them that Evolution in false and untrue….but tell their children to make sure they “pass the test” meaning, if you are studying this stuff and you know in your heart that it is not true…make sure you write down that it is true..in order not to fail.

Maybe parents do not realize that by telling their children this..they are making their children deny Christ 10x over….and if they think for one moment that they will not be judged by God for leading their children this way..they better think again.

OK, that all said..It was an amazing day today…I have been praying for some time for revival in my family and my husbands family..Last month my SIL and her DH and their 2 teenage sons started coming to our church. Today after seeing the Truth Project..the oldest son who is a Junior in High School..also recognized the Carl Sagan video and had a ton of questions. He needed them to be explained in Spanish which my DH took the time and went through the whole Gospel message through Way Of the Master and he broke down and asked Jesus into his life!!! Praise the LORD!!! He is faithful!! The youngest who is in 10th grade was still unsure so he said he needed to take time to think about this all…We will be praying hard that the Lord will soften his heart and he will realize on his own that he is in need of a savior.

In the mean time..I am praising the Lord..My mother rededicated herself to Christ and just became a member of a Nazarene church in Florida and now my Nephew got saved today!! Life is good!

I also got asked to start up a Kitchen Ministery at church today and run it with my girls. :o)

WOW! What a day. I am thankful that I did not get up at 4am and go shopping with my sister in laws and mother in law..I went later with only one of my sister in laws..

Walmart was a madhouse..In fact a women got trampled to DEATH!!!! What a way to die! OH MY! People were camped out with sleeping bags and tents in front of Target. Granted my SIL and MIL got some fabulous sales. My daughter wanted this doll (Baby Alive) that pees after she drinks juice. They bought the last five in fact! There was these big lego mega blocks that run for 19.99 and they were only 4 bucks. My MIL got each of the kids winter coats for only 8 bucks each and slippers for $4.

They were back by 7:30am..and I met up with one of my sister in laws after the baby woke up.

I found some real good deals on some books.

All in all, my feet are so tired from walking for 3 hours straight here and there..but it was well worth it! We plan to do it again next year.

We are all back home now and eating cherry cheesecake and having peppermint tea. We are getting ready for movie night. I found the movie Christmas Shoes for 5 bucks at Christian Books. YEAH!!!

Proverbs 13:18

“Poverty and shame shall be to him that refuseth instruction: but he that regardeth reproof shall be honored.”

We continue talking today about the home destroyer of foolishness.

We pull it down by not preparing for the future. As you read through Proverbs 31 again you will notice that the virtuous woman did not live just for the day, but prepared her home and household for whatever lay ahead.

Proverbs 31:27 says, “She looketh well to the ways of her household, and eateth not the read of idleness.” The words “looks well” are translated from the Hebrew word tsaphah. It has two meanings–

a) To watch. It is the same word that is used for a watchman who watches to protect the city, e.g. Ezekiel 33:7. The wise woman is a watchwoman. She guards her home and her children’s lives. She does not leave her post. She guards over what they see, hear and read. She watches over her home to keep everything in order. She does not let things get out of control.

b) To lean forward, to peer into the distance. The wise woman does not think only about today, but about the future. She has food and necessities prepared in case of emergency. She has made strategies with her family so that they know what to do in a crisis. She is ready for whatever may happen.

Proverbs 31:18 says that “her lamp goes not out by night.” No, don’t feel guilty. she is not working all night! Back in Bible days, they did not have electricity. Therefore, they kept a lamp burning, ready for any emergency. The dogs may bark at some intrusion or the baby wakes. They need to have the lamp ready to investigate or to minister to the needs of the baby or children. It could be catastrophic for a family to run out of oil for the lamp. The wise woman always made sure she had enough oil to keep the lamp burning continually.

Jesus told a story about this in Matthew 25:1-13. The wise virgins took not only their lamps but extra oil with them. The foolish didn’t think of anything but the moment, and of course they ran out of oil! And they missed the coming of the bridegroom! What did Jesus call these women? Yes, we know. Foolish!

We pull it down by being stubborn. Proverbs 1:7 says, “Fools despise wisdom and instruction. ” (Proverbs 1:22) The foolish woman thinks she knows it all and she does not like to be corrected. The wise woman knows that she constantly needs correction from the Lord. Even from her husband and others in order to keep learning and walking in the ways of the Lord. I don’t always like it when my husband corrects me but I know it keeps me on the right track. I want to receive correction and wisdom from others because I don’t want to stay the same. I still have so much changing and learning to do. I want to have a soft heart to hear what God tells me.

The Scriptures tell us over and over again that it is the wise who will receive instruction and correction. The word that is used continually is “hear”. Hear instruction. Hear counsel. Listen to rebuke. The word “hear” is shama in the Hebrew. It means “to hear with attention or obedience, to give undivided listening attention.” This should be our attitude toward correction and advice, rather than being reactionary. I notice that the word heart is a t added to hear. To have a heart that is soft and pliable, we have to have to hear what God wants to say to us, not only through His Word, but through others.

Much of what we do and think is conditioned by our deceived humanistic society. It is so much part of everything around us that we think it is normal. But the world’s normal does not always match the Word of God. We must continually seek God and His Word for His truth. We must constantly check to seek if we are lining up with His plan for motherhood and family life.

I have had to change and repent about so many things over the years and I know that God has still so much to teach me. We must always be open to God’s truth. Read the beautiful family Psalms (Psalm 127 and 128) every week. They keep you in line with God’s heart rather than the humanistic thinking of this world.

Sometimes we have to humble our ears to hear counsel. Proverbs 22:17 says, “Bow down thine ear, and hear the words of the wise, and apply thine heart unto my knowledge.”

We need to take notice of Proverbs 8:33, “Hear instruction, and be wise, and refuse it not.” Also Proverbs 15:32, “He that refuses instruction despises his own soul: but he that hears reproof gets understanding. “

BY: NANCY CAMPBELL

PRAYER:

“Lord, please give me a hearing heart that is open to correction. I know that as I am open to correction, my children will be more open to correction too. Thank you, Lord. Amen.”

AFFIRMATION:

I’m a watchman in my home,
I will not vacate my post!
I’m open to wise correction
And filled with the Holy Ghost!

What a wonderful Thanksgiving it was today. My Dh found a fresh turkey for us late last night. It cooked up beautiful!

I can’t seem to find the after picture, so will just share the before picture for now.

It was stuffed with chili peppers, onions and limes. YUM!

We also had my daughters birthday party today. There were 19 of us here today! WOW!

Here is my little princess. Bestill me heart….

She ended up getting baby dolls, barbies, clothes, 22 dollars,a craft set, books and some playdoh!

Dinner and dessert went well and the whole house was cleaned by 6pm.

That was a first. We have 2 refigerators and 3 freezers filled with left overs. My mother in law cooked so much and left it for us. I also cooked a whole lot,as did my daughters.

After dinner we got to witness to some of DH’s brothers and one of his brothers brought his new girl friend over and she was very interested on what the bible says about salvation.

On a another family note..My 20 year old niece just got her first job. It is at Target and she really likes it. She quit school nearly 4 years ago and has been taking an extended vacation since then. She wants to be a pastry chef and is saving for schooling. She just got her GED a few months back.

Her sister who is 16 just applied to Princeton and is really hoping they except her. She feels confident that they will.

It is ironic that both girls want to move to PA. LOL

What else? I heard from my mother anf Father today. My mother just became a member of a Nazerene church and has rededicated herself to Christ! Praise the LORD!

My father is not doing too good. He is going through a horrible divorce. He has spent the last 13 years with an alcoholic abusive wife who has manged to put his nearly 50 thousand dollars in depth. He is beside himself with worry. Please pray for him.

That is it for now..must get to bed..We are getting up early to hit the sales. My sister in law wants to go shopping with me so I can show her what the kids need for Christmas. Kohles opens at 4am! Walmart at 5am!

Hope you all had a blessed day!

Twas the month before CHRISTmas
When all through our land, Not all Christians were praying Nor taking a stand.

See, the PC Police had taken away,
The reason for Christmas - no one could say.

The children were told by their schools not to sing, About Shepherds and Wise Men and Angels and things.

It might hurt people’s feelings, the teachers would say December 25th is just a ‘ Holiday ‘.

Yet the shoppers were ready with cash, checks and credit. Pushing folks down to the floor just to get it! CDs from Madonna, an X BOX, an I-pod. Something was changing, something quite odd!

Retailers promoted Ramadan and Kwanzaa. In hopes to sell books by Franken & Fonda.

As Targets were hanging their trees upside down. At Lowe’s the word Christmas - was no where to be found.
At K-Mart and Staples and Penny’s and Sears You won’t hear the word Christmas; it won’t touch your ears.

Inclusive, sensitive, Di-ver-si-ty*
Are words that were used to intimidate me.

Now Daschle, Now Darden, Now sharpton, Wolf Blitzen On Boxer, on Rather, on Kerry, on Clinton! At the top of the Senate, there arose such a clatter
To eliminate Jesus, in all public matter.

And we spoke not a word, as they took away our faith. Forbidden to speak of salvation and grace. The true Gift of Christmas was exchanged and discarded
The reason for the season, stopped before it started.

So as you celebrate ‘Winter Break’ under your ‘Dream Tree’ Sipping your Starbucks, listen to me.

Choose your words carefully, choose what you say -

Shout MERRY CHRISTMAS,
Shout MERRY CHRISTMAS, not Happy Holiday !

What is THYME? Thyme is a member of the Mint family

Let’s look at its History first.
Ancient Egyptians used thyme in embalming…. The ancient Greeks used it in their baths and burnt it as incense in their temples. They believed that thyme was a source of courage. It was also used it to purify rooms and to give an aromatic flavor to cheese and liqueurs. In the European Middle Ages, the herb was placed beneath pillows to aid sleep and ward off nightmares. (I may have to try this one.) he-he

In this period, Ladies gave knights and warriors gifts of thyme leaves as they believed it to bring courage them. Thyme was also placed on coffins during funerals to assure passage into the next life. Hmmmmmm..

OK, thyme has a very strong flavor so a little is all you need. This is good..means it will last a long time and the big one that I saw at SAMS last night will probably last several years…. Thyme is a good source of iron. Thyme is a basic ingredient in French, Greek, Italian, Lebanese, Persian, Portuguese, Spanish, Syrian, and Turkish cuisines.

How and when should you use Thyme?

You can flavor meats, soups and stews with it. It also gives a primary flavor to lamb, tomatoes and eggs. Thyme is sold both fresh and dried. The fresh form is more flavorful but also less convenient…as storage life is rarely more than a week. I think I’ll stick with the dried. You can buy powdered Thyme of the leaves.
As with bay, thyme is slow to release its flavors so it is usually added early in the cooking process…

Medicinal use (My favorite part)

The essential oil of thyme (Thymus vulgaris) is made up of 20-55% thymol. Thymol is an antiseptic and is the main active ingredient in Listerine mouthwash. NEAT!! Before modern antibiotics, it was used to medicate bandages. It has also been shown to be effective against the fungus that infects toenails.
You can maker a tea with Thyme by infusing it in water… It is used to treat a cough and bronchitis…Medicinally thyme is used for respiratory infections in the form of a tincture, tisane, salve, syrup or by steam inhalation…It is an antiseptic, thyme boiled in water and cooled is very effective against inflammation of the throat when gargled 3 times a day…

The inflammation will normally disappear in 2 - 5 days. Other infections and wounds can be dripped with thyme that has been boiled in water and cooled…
So there you have it. I hope you have learned at leats a couple new things about thyme that you did not already know. :o)

As most of you know, I have had a love/hate realationship with our local post office for some time now. I love that it is so close..but will never understand its workers. That said, this is how today went.

ME:Excuse me sir, do you have a priority mail envelope for this dress I need to mail, I don’t see any out here.

Employee:Oh, must be all gone, here ya go.

ME:Thanks.

I seal up the dress and wait behind the post that says, wait in line. Well, there was no line today. So I stood there for about a minute before the man says NEXT…real loud!!! I look behind me to make sure no one snuck in that maybe I did not notice..and no, no one but me was standing in line..I walk up to him and hand him the envelope with the dress and he asks me if it is fragile..I laugh and tell him..”I sure hope not, its a dress…the dress I showed you a moment ago.” He then says….So there is nothing perishable or breakable then in here as he is bending the envelope!! LOL

I assume he is kidding now and laugh out pretty loud…noticing that he is not smiling at me and evidently is very serious with his questions….I say, nope..its just a dress….. What gives?

There is usually a lady there who loves giving me a very hard time because I don’t have a local drivers license or ID card..I guess I shoudl be glad that I only had to deal with this crazy man this time….

“Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Matthew 6:25-26

I HAVE BEEN THINKING ALOT ABOUT THIS VERSE LATELY. IT HAS REALLY BEEN ON MY MIND. MY MAIN THOUGHT IS..I, LIKE MANY OTHER HOMESTEADERS, ARE STOCKING UP OF FOOD. NOTHING MAJOR..JUST THINGS WITH SHELF LIFE. FOR 3 REASONS ACTUALLY….

NUMBER 1.-IF PRICES SKYROCKET NEXT YEAR..WHAT IF WE CAN’T AFFORD TO FEED OUR FAMILIES?

NUMBER 2. -WHAT IF OUR HUSBAND BECOMES ILL OR LOSES HIS JOB AND WE NEED TO FEED OUR FAMILY?

NUMBER 3.-WHAT IF THERE IS A CATASTROPHY?

SO. WHERE DO THESE 3THINGS FIT INTO THE ABOVE SCRIPTURE?

SHOULD WE NOT BE STOCKPILING?

*SCRATCHING MY CHIN*
